Here's my first review. Hold tight everyone it's going to be a long ride...just kidding. I'm all about short and sweet, and to-the-point.

The first Korean drama that I am reviewing is "Dong Yi."

If you have a burning passion and love for historical dramas and romances then you will definitely love this. Dong Yi has a very Empress Ki kind of feel to it, especially in the sense that Choi Dong Yi goes from rags to riches.

To start this ship off, the general plot of this drama is Dong Yi is the daughter of a mortician and sister of a palace musician, but her family is much more than what she ever thought they would be. Things are really cute and sweet until she finds a dead body and gets mixed up in a political battle because the guy she found bestowed a clue to her about who killed him. Then, remember how I said her family was much more than what she thought? Yeah, her father just happens to be the chief of an underground group called the Gumgye (Swordsman Alliance) and her brother is one of the commanders as well. However, they're not the bad guys in this. They're the good guys. They help rescue slaves and help them escape and live better lives. Long story short though, the group gets wrongfully accused of assasinating a political leader and are slaughtered...very brutally if I say so myself. Dong Yi basically lives the rest of her life trying to prove their innocence.

Now I know you're probably looking at that long paragraph like....

But it's okay, I totes understand.

Moving on...

The reason why I love this drama and recommend it, is because it takes the viewer on an emotional journey. Just like Empress Ki, if you guys have seen it. This drama made me laugh, cry, yell at the screen, crawl up in a ball and cry some more, and smile whenever the characters were genuinely happy.

The best part of this drama though, has to be the chemistry between the king and Dong Yi. It's just so naturally awkward you can't help but love it.

I love genuine love stories.

I won't give too much away, so go ahead and get your fill of historical romance.

Last thing, the drama is beautiful. If you didn't already love historical fashion then you will after watching this.

I promise you won't be dissappointed, and if you want to be thoroughly entertained then watch it on Viki with the comments showing.

I'll have more reviews coming your way, so stay tuned and leave comments if you have any requests!
